Coaching and technical assistance

Our goal is to help you achieve all your goals to provide quality child care to the children in Escambia County.

To request coaching or technical assistance for your program please send an email to training@elcescambia.org.

The CLASS Tool from Teachstone is the Observational Tool used to score classrooms based on their Teacher-Child Interactions.

This Tool is based on the training provided by ELC, CLASS Group Coaching (formally MMCI).

After the Observations are completed, the scores from each classroom are then combined and averaged providing preschool programs with their School Readiness Program Assessment (SR PA) Comp Score. The Comp Score is the basis for a School Readiness Contract with ELC.

Below, ELC staff have put together some quick video overviews of the three tools. These overviews are a great way for those who have completed CLASS Group Coaching, formerly known as MMCI, to have a quick refresher or for new teachers to gain a quick understanding of CLASS Observations. It is still highly recommended that all Teachers complete the CLASS Group Coaching training, for registration please click on the “Training Calendar” under the Provider Tab for registration. The tools are developed within multiple age ranges, ELC uses the Infant (Birth to 18 months), Toddler (15 to 36 months), and PreK (36 months to 5 years) tools. PDF’s of the tool overviews are available below to print and take notes as you watch.
